Claire

There's something amazing in knowing it is possible to stay friends with someone for sixteen years. to go from infant to baby to toddler to kid to tween to teenager.
I've known Claire since, well, before I was born. Our parents are friends, and they stuck us together the second it was safe to expose us to the outside world. She's at boarding school so every time i see her its like i've won the lottery.

I saw the Hannah Montana movie last night. It was actually not bad. I made a list entitled "What I learned from Hannah Montana" it's really funny, but my blog is being weird and won't let me post it. hmmm....

Ode to the Format

how could one band be so amazing?
I just...dont get how they do it.

music tastes come and go in your lifetime. When I was younger, I was an avid Hilary Duff and Avril Lavinge fan. I've gone through rap phases, pop phases, and yes, my obsessive Jonas Brothers phase. But somehow, among all of these music groups, the only one that has truly remained is The Format. Their lyrics speak to me, but not in a cliche way. Their lyrics have layers. the first time i hear one of their songs, you don't exactly know what the song is about. They don't tell you. You get to listen to them and come up in your head what the song means to you. They are also the only band in which I own every single one of their albums. B-Sides and Rarities is my favorite, which is their collection of well, b-sides and rarities. I just got Snails EP, which thus completed my collection.
I love The Format because their songs take me places. When they are playing, i feel...happy. sometimes sad. sometimes mellow. and sometimes, really really creeped out. (i.e. seven-digit-pin code, the official indie anthem to the creepy stalker)

What I'm saying is that if you're reading this, go check them out. go buy their stuff. or, download it. just, well, listen to it.
